Transforming Livestock Manure into a Valuable Organic Fertilizer


A&V Consulting, LLC is introducing an advanced aerobic composting technology developed by Kohshin 
Engineering Co., Ltd. (Japan). The technology has been implemented internationally for the treatment of livestock
manure and organic waste, helping producers convert manure into a stable, marketable organic fertilizer while
improving overall manure management.


How the Technology Works


Unlike conventional manure storage or passive composting methods, the Kohshin system uses a fully enclosed,
controlled aerobic fermentation process. Fresh manure is continuously mixed, aerated, and monitored under
carefully controlled conditions to promote rapid microbial decomposition. 
The process is designed to:


 Accelerate compost stabilization in approximately 24–30 days.


 Reduce odors associated with manure handling.


 Promote destruction of many weed seeds through sustained thermophilic composting conditions.


 Reduce pathogen levels through controlled high-temperature aerobic composting.


 Produce a uniform, mature compost suitable for use as an organic soil amendment or fertilizer, subject to 
applicable regulatory requirements.

Current U.S. Initiative 


A&V Consulting is evaluating opportunities to introduce this technology to the United States through strategic 
partnerships with universities, livestock producers, agricultural organizations, and industry leaders. Initial efforts are 
focused on Florida, with Iowa identified as a key state because of its leadership in livestock agriculture, research,
and innovation.
